I shot myself in the foot by installing ownCloud (on a new installation of COS 6.5) without first installing the web server. (did I miss a notice somewhere that it was a prerequisite?) I went through several gyrations to get things working, mostly.

Here's where I am now:
-ownCloud allows a login for my normal user account
-ownCloud /was/ logging in as admin by default, but since I logged out as admin, I've not been able to get back in. I never set a password for the admin account.

How can I reestablish access to the admin account? Is there a default password? I never got into configuring it, so the reset process does not work (no recovery email was set up).

I finally guessed the default password for the admin user, which is "admin." So I'm in, and I recommend that ownCloud users be sure to change that password to something else!

The default password is advised in the webconfig and yes should be changed after install :)

The web server should have been installed as a pre-requisite as you can't reach the web interface without it, thx for the feedback I'll check

Just purchased this app. Could not figure out how to access the admin control panel. admin/admin would not let me in

    Hello all,
I just installed ownclound and I can grant users to have their own access but impossible to connect with the admin account. In my web interface nothing is provided. Is there a place I can manage it ?
    thanks for your help :)

    At the command line, run:

    cat /etc/clearos/owncloud.conf

    to get the admin password.

    Hello Ben,
Thanks very much for your help :)
I had a check and unfortunateliy, the folder /etc/clearos/owncloud was empty. But you pointed me into the right direction and I found owncloud_business.conf in /etc/clearos and it worked
    Thanks very much :)
