I've installed Clear OS 6.2 community on a hyper-v server and get as far as the first reboot. Then, after some time I (usually) get the following error:

/usr/sbin/gconsole-setup: line 14: 1418 Aborted /usr/bin/Xorg –configure 2 /dev/null

And nothing after that. The console is blank (except for that error). I can type into the console but nothing happens.

In the hyper-v events I get the following critical error:
'ClearOS62' was reset because an unrecoverable error occurred on a virtual processor that caused a triple fault. If the problem persists, contact Product Support. (Virtual machine ID EDC35DF3-D688-406D-94DB-06B601432EFD)

Other times there is no error displayed yet no graphical UI shows up - the clear os (typewritten) screen disappears and I'm left with a blank screen that I can type on but get no response from the server.

Any suggestions on what I can do to see what is going wrong?

I'm having the exact same error with 6.7 Community under Hyper-V on Server 2012R2; Was there any resolution for this issue?

Given that so many people are running this option under Hyper-V, why is there such a dearth of support for such a configuration?

    I'm running ClearOS 6.6 on Hyper-V Server 2012 R2. Prior to 2012 I had been running ClearOS (5.2 and later 6.x) on Hyper-V Server 2008.

Is it possible for you to use the latest version of Hyper-V and ClearOS? When I was running ClearOS on 2008 I know I ran into a number of different compatibility problems (you can find if you search the forums). Microsoft made improvements in the integration between Hyper-V and Linux in the more recent releases so if possible I think you'd save yourself a lot of trouble by getting on the most current versions of both Hyper-V and ClearOS. Over the last few years there were also improvements in how the Linux kernel was integrating with Hyper-V ... another reason I'd recommend being current.

I can't speak to the particular error you're getting. I did run into some problems related to using the Hyper-V console. When I was running ClearOS 6.5 and it upgraded to 6.6 I had no problems with the Hyper-V console. But when I re installed 6.6 on Hyper-V I find that the Hyper-V console is blank. I've been able to work around that problem so I haven't tried to find a solution for it. The error you mentioned might be a variation of this problem I ran into?

From the Hyper-V console you could try entering Alt-F2 which should take you from the ClearOS GUI interface (which seems to have occasional problems being seen in the Hyper-V console and thus cause a blank console screen) into the Linux command line. Depending upon your technical skills you might be able to fix your ClearOS problems from there?

For me the blank Hyper-V console simply meant I had to ensure the Ethernet configuration in ClearOS was setup correctly (which I could correct from Alt-F2). Once that was done I was able to use the web interface to connect to ClearOS and complete the configuration.

Hope this has been of some use to you.
