I would like to understand Failover mechanism provided by clearVM better. Details provided in the documentation are very sketchy .

Ouuuh! That is cool. Looks like the NAS storage and Host(s) can operate independently incase of a failure. Going to give this a try and see if it works well.

What ClearVM documentation are you referring too? ClearVM does not have dynamic High Availability (HA) or Failover, that I am aware of. Do know that ClearVM has a manual VM Backup and VM Snapshot process to work just fine... then can move to what ever server hardware anywhere anytime. Hope this helps.
NOTE: Have been able to get both HA and Failover to work with ClearOS just fine.
