Builder workaround was found and some improvement packages were released.
CentOS 8 is nearing completion. It is expected that 7.7 will come out some time after its release.
An issue exists if using password authentication for proxy access. If your ClearOS is behind a proxy and uses password authentication. You may need to run updates manually 'yum update' to overcome a bug that prevents automatic updates. More on this later.
Certificates were changed on a number of clearos.com and clearfoundation.com sites.

CentOS still needs release for full dev environment but use of app-cockpit will help people get a head start.

Hi Dave,
No problem, I was planning to attend the meeting but I was so tired when it was 1:30 PM that I went to bed. The problem is that my bio rhythm is a mess. I worked for 1 1/2 year in Amsterdam. So my mornings started at 4:45 AM for 1 1/2 year. This is resulting that I still awaking around 5:00 AM (also in weekends and vacations).
I almost finished the translation of Kopano. I have to do a double check.
Any news you can share on ClearShare, ClearOS 8 (Cockpit)? -

Sorry your bio rhythm is messed up. I have to deal with seasonal depression so my happy light helps keep me well adjusted.
Thanks for working on the Dutch translations for Kopano. If other community members want to help out, just ping Marcel or me and we can get you the files (its not a lot but it all helps).
We did make some good progress on ClearSHARE this week but there is still a bug preventing the beta release. Our dev team ran into a critical blocker to how we were integrating Webconfig and Cockpit. I think I found a way to solve that though. -

Cockpit works today on ClearOS 7 but it should only be used experimentally because it installs NetworkManager which is notorious for breaking things with Webconfig. In 8 we are incorporating network manager because it gives us some wireless and 3g/4g/5g libraries that we need to pursue wireless wan support. So we will address the stability of Network Manager at this time. -

Yes, it is available in the "centos-extras-unverified" repos. I installed Cockpit some time ago besides ClearOS. At some point it broke ClearOS. -

If help is needed for translation (Dutch also), just let me know
Patrick that would be awesome. I can use some help! Can you check the translation of the Kopano app?

Two people know more as one, and off course I'm not flawless. -

I have clearos working with network manager to manage LTE cards right now. I just use Network to setup the connection ( NetworkManger sets up the connection using ModemManger) . Then, I hand off the IP stuff to some dispatcher scripts. syswatch is still in charge of routing and monitoring network connectivity.
It would be nice to use cockpit instead of webconfig for the main core for the control panel. you guys have enough on your plate trying maintain a stable core system. Let some one else maintain the base code for interface. Its hard for me to find someone who likes working with php and code igniter. They are all on the nod.js , or .net core band wagon.
You could have a hybrid system. Where Network Manager hands off somethings to a dispatcher scripts. That way you can maintain some legacy code
Just out or curiosity. What parts of ClearOS does Network Manger break.
The parts I could think of where
1. syconfig scripts : /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-XXXX
This could probably be fixed by having file watcher automatically add reload the config file everytime its changed.
nmcli con load /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-XXXX
2. syswatch -- internal , external , hot lan, dmz routes ( but really, network manager should be used instead of syswatch )
This could probably be replaced with dispatcher scripts or changing the routing scripts in network manager. you might even be able to reuse most of the syswatch code base is the script.
3. vpn connections.
Everything else seems to managed independently. -

Here are some of the picture I have of my LTE interface for the modem.
You need the latest version of Modem Manager to pull the sim card information for the ICCID. I could of actually pulled everything using D-BUS. but both ModemManager and NetworkManger out put everything as a key value pair. It was pretty easy to parse.
