My ClearBOX 300 is an earlier model, supports Intel Core 2 Duo and Quad CPU's. Has a single DIMM of DDR3 1333Mhz, tried 2 other sets and the machine refuses to post although I can confirm they do work in another machine. Is there a QVL for RAM on these old models or has anyone with the same one done an upgrade with something other than the same brand it came with?

That looks pretty innocuous. 2GB DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 CL9. What did you try upgrading it with?
When you raise the ticket, please put anything which may identify the ClearBOX version in it. From this guide, it looks like there are four types! Perhaps give the output to:
, although, from what you say, yours is probably G1 or G2, so prior to the i7 processors.cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep "model name"

It *is* a G1 from what I can see, that command gives me "BOX 300".. something along those lines. Wasn't very specific.
BIOS Update
A BIOS update exists for ClearBOX 300 Gen1 which brings more features to expand memory and processor options. Essentially it transforms a Gen1 box to a Gen2 box. There is no update path from Gen1/2 to Gen3. Contact support for more information.
This seems like something that could help?
I previosly used http://ftp1.clearos.com/pub/ClearBOX/ to grab a BIOS there, I *think* I just used the R100E2 ROM. May need to give the other G1toG2 update a go instead.
