Hi,

I messed something up. I wanted to host an additional webpage, but this was probably a bad idea.

I wanted to setup the mail server (under Server/web/Web Server) and put in a name for a website under "Web Sites". This killed my Kopano Webapp. For this reason I removed and reinstalled the Webserver, which made the Kopano Webapp working again.

Though, I realized this morning that no mails can be delivered anymore. Mailq gives:

temporary failure. Command output: Failed to connect socket: Connection refused, original code

I also realized that under the mailserver the Web site name I put is still there. Also I needed to re-approve the certificate when accessing Kopano Webapp with a browser.

How can I get back to square one?

Thank you for your help.

Best wishes,

Robert

You would have half a chance of getting back to square 1 by restoring a config backup but I somehow doubt if it is going to work. I am also not sure the problems are totally related. I think the webapp queries the back end Kopano POP/IMAP database to read mail. The SMTP server also delivers mail to the back end and not the webapp and you have not changed the back end.

Your Web Server web site definitions should be in /etc/httpd/conf.d/flex-80.conf and /etc/httpd/conf.d/flex-443.conf, but with the Web Server running you should still be able to get to https://your_domain.com/webapp, but do not set up a web site for Webapp. This is covered by its own conf file in /etc/httpd/conf.d/. I don't know what it contains so I don't know if the website is domain is hardcoded or if it accepts any domain which points to your IP address.. The ClearOS web server accepts any domain which points to your IP address.

You may have needed to reapprove the certificate if you used a different FQDN for your web site than you were using for the Kopano Webapp. It also depends which certificate you selected for you web server to use. It uses the default system certificate if you do not have a Let's Encrypt or commercial certificate.

Did you try restarting Kopano and the SMTP server?

    Dear Nick,

Thank you for your quick reply. I will put the backup file on the system this evening (I do not have physical access to the backup right now). I already rebooted the whole system, but no change. I deleted the virtual hosts in the config files you mentioned, but it does not disappear in the webaccess (I restarted the server) and does not change the problem with the mail delivery. Is this stored elsewhere, too?

Could it be that another service is getting removed/changed, when I remove and reinstall the webserver? I did not change anything else.

    Thank you.

    Best wishes,

    Robert

One thought, the name of the webpage I put is not the same as the email-extension I use. Could it be postfix gets confused with that, that it now thinks the system has another mail-extension (the stuff after the @)?

This looks bad. I just removed the webserver and this is what happened (using yum history info):

What is the safest way to put kopano back in action?

    Thanks a lot.

You have to be very careful uninstalling using yum as you've found out. It will remove all dependencies. Try:
    yum reinstall app-kopano
If it does not allow a reinstall, just do a:
    yum install app-kopano

    Hi,

I tried to re-install Kopano from the marketplace and it tells me that I have packages from the Kopano version 8.5.8.2 (from private-clearcenter-kopano-basic-testing), but I can only get 8.4.5. I cannot find private-clearcenter-kopano-basic-testing in the respository list. Does it not exist anymore and I need to pull it from somewhere else? I do not know why I have Kopano from the test-server in the first place, but I would like to stay with the version installed and probably making sure I do not pull the test version again.

Where can I find Kopano version 8.5.8.2 in the repository?

    Thank you.

    Best wishes,

    Robert

    Dear Nick,

Yes, I realized that. I actually did remove it using the Marketplace on the webaccess. If I would have used yum I would have seen that it removes too much. Maybe a warning in the Marketplace app would be good.

As mentioned below the reinstall does not work because of versioning issues. yum gives the same problem.

    Thank you.

Did you install in the past with something like:
    ENABLE_BETA=True yum install app-kopano
If so, give it a go.

Maybe you could walk through this. I got the link from the Clear Center team due to a Kopano issue I am having. I had to first make sure I had the latest version installed.

    Dear Nick and Dirk,

Thank you very much! This fixed it. I now remember, that I needed to do this, because of some vulnerability issues with the earlier version.

    Thanks again!

    Best wishes,
