I have ClearOS (Community Version 7) installed as a simple workgroup server. I did not set it up to be a domain controller. I am using Flexshare and it's SMB for users in the office. Outside of the office, I have users logging in via Nextcloud for Business.
The problem that I'm having is that files written by flexshare to folders cannot be changed by nextcloud users even though the permissions are correct and group ownership is correct. If I go in through the shell and rename the files and rename them back again, everything works as advertised. Does anyone have a clue about how to resolve this?
Thank you in advanc

There are so many different options so:
How have you set the flexshare up in Nextcloud?
When you are remote, how do the users access the files in Nextcloud.
In NC, if I connect to a flexshare by SMB, I can write to it as normal from the LAN as a mapped network share (or by browsing the shares on the server in Windows Explorer). In NC in my browser I can edit it (I used a test file) and it saves as you go along. I can still then open the file from my LAN as a mapped network share.
I suspect you are a accessing the files via NC in a different way.
