I got ownCloud Community from the Market place and the initial setup wants PHP 5.4.0 I have 5.3.3 on my community 6.6 box. What do I need to do to get this going.

Code: yum install php

reports that it is at 5.3.3 and is the latest
Thanks

Fair enough - thanks Tim .. I just wondered. Pesumably therefore that really only applies if one upgrades to CO7 (when it appears!) as AFAI can see, COS6 will stay on the earlier version of PHP.

Glad you got it working in the end, thanks to Marcel / Nick :) Yes where required we build and provide our own packages within the Marketplace / ClearOS repos to prevent inadvertent surprises when upgrading.

@Richard, in theory you can update to the next minor point release e.g 7.0.x using the OwnCloud internal updater and I have done so successfully in the past, however for major release upgrades you need to use the ClearOS repo's and RPM packages. I checked today however and it was offering OwnCloud v8 as an update against what the documentation says...(!) so would discourage using it. As mentioned previously OwnCloud 8 requires a newer version of PHP5.4. See docs here:-

    Marcel,
I did see 3 “isv” repos. At /etc/repos.d Move them out and reinstalled from the Market. This time I got 7.0.4. Whoo Hoo! Owncloud now starts but now gives me an “untrusted domain” error. Now I need to work all the busted configurations I have managed to accumulate. Thanks for your help. I would have never picked up on that.

Yes this is the community edition. My normal M.O. is to try it out on a home community edition server before committing to the Pro server at my business.

    Nick, i think your right...

    owncloud-config-apache.noarch 8.0.0-27.1 @isv_ownCloud_community

looks like a repo of owncloud...

    Edit:

you can check /etc/yum.repos.d if there is a own cloud repo.

You are using the community edition? I'm using Professional that's probably why i don't see Owncloud 8.

Not sure what's the best way. Can't you check via the yum.log what is installed any remove the rpm's one by one?

All your owncloud packages look like they came from another repo. Try a:
yum list installed | grep ^owncloud
The source repos will be on the right of the listing. I suspect yours came from a isv_ownCloud_community repo

Tim; just out of curiosity and given that ownCloud appears to update itself, what do we get for the subscription? - or are the updates I've seen sourced out of that subscription?

(It seems to be a lot better solution than Dropbox btw!)

Hi Bob, OwnCloud 7 is available in the martketplace which requires PHP5.3 available in ClearOS v6 so shouldn't cause this problem.

The latest version of OwnCloud 8 requires PHP 5.4 but this requires ClearOS7 (soon to be released)

Do you have any third party repos installed? or enabled? what's the output of 'yum repolist'
