I couldn’t find the relevant category to post this in so I just selected uncategorized. So I tried installing ClearOS Home edition from a bootable usb on iMac running Mojave, and I keep getting the errors in the pictures I’ve attached. I’ve tried appending “Nomodeset” to the install destination and also tried removing the “quiet” and then adding “Nomodeset”, which was suggested as a fix for the Ubuntu installations that have the same error on Mac, but those didn’t work either. I tried MacOS Journaled and MS-DOS FAT for the format types and that didn’t help either. Clicking test or install ClearOS prompts the same error screen. I followed the ClearOS Installer guide, tried Etcher, but it just keeps showing that error page. Initially it says “no controller found”, when removing “quiet” and then adding “Nomodeset” it initially works and then runs into a similar error. I’ve followed the ClearOS USB installer guide step by step over and over, but it’s the same. Has anyone had any success installing ClearOS on a Mac? I’m trying to replace MacOS with ClearOS.

Welcome aboard. New users get their first couple of posts moderated so they don't appear immediately, so I've deleted your other post.
I'd like to start by saying I know next to nothing about Mac's except that, under the hood, they should be standard Intel PC hardware. Unfortunately your pictures have not attached so I don't know what errors you are seeing. Can you check your BIOS and make sure you do not have RAID enabled? Basic SATA/AHCI should be OK. Also you will probably need to wipe your hard disk. There is a check box which enables you to go to another menu where you can free up space either by squashing your partitions (I think) or by deleting partitions (definitely). In terms of format types stick with the default XFS or go with EXT4 unless you really know what you are doing. I doubt if FAT would work as it does not carry the extended file system data needed and I would have thought MacOS Journaled would be too proprietary.
