Hello,
I use bmbackup to make backups from my user data on my clearos 7 home edition server.
I resently bought a nice Ewent USB sata cradle EW7012 so i can put a harddrive into it and run a backup.
I was using another Ewent product the EW7016 r1 that was working fine but the cradle is not showing up in bmbackup at all.
I looked at the usb devices and found the following info.
[root@maiserver ~]# lsusb
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0424:2660 Standard Microsystems Corp. Hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 031: ID abcd:6103 Unknown
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 051d:0002 American Power Conversion Uninterruptible Power Supply
Bus 001 Device 008: ID 152d:0567 JMicron Technology Corp. / JMicron USA Technology Corp. JMS567 SATA 6Gb/s bridge
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 005 Device 031 is the Ewent EW7016 r1 that is working.
Bus 001 Divice 008 is the Ewent EW7012 that is not working.
Is there a solution for his problem or is there some body how can tell me wich HDD cradle does work so i can get an other one.
Both device's are suited for linux according to the specs.
Regards Frans

I have the same problem as you. It seems that the USB drive is detected as a SCSI drive since an update to ClearOS, more info here: https://sfj48-fkj200.heiksthsd.cf/clearfoundation/social/community/usb-drive-not-visible. I sent an email on friday to [email protected] and [email protected], hopefully someone will reply back.
