Not sure, but I watched as the DNS started populating again late Friday afternoon eastern time zone (UTC-4) using dnschecker.org - when the ns finally sync'd, I also checked my A records (all good) and my mail started flowing again, and my websites were once again accessible.
It was a scary 24 or so hours, and was tempted to start making plans to change domain providers. Glad it was not necessary.
