I would love to be a paying customer, but for some reason, I can't get the evaluation ClearOS 7.1 Business to complete the installation correction.
Here's the scenario.
I'm trying to bring up a new mail server/gateway to test the functionality of ClearOS 7.1. The plan is to migrate my old mail server running 5.2 community to 7.1 business on a new computer. I am using business instead of community because we plan on deploying Zafara, and that is inherently a paid product.
I have the server connected to both the Internet on the first ethernet port and to our local lan on the second ethernet port.
Both the Internet connection and the local connection will require static IP addresses as the DHCP servers deliver only generic IP addresses for Users.
I have in the past tested 6.x and 7.0 community on this very same computer, with this same configuration, and they both installed an operated without a hitch. The problem I having with 7.1 business is that after the entire installation process completes, I start the Installation wizard on a PC and basically hit next and then select gateway mode, then hit "next" on the network configuration, the network immediately goes down.
I logged in as root on the server, terminal console to see what was going on. I ran "ifconfig" to check the interface configurations, and they both look correct. I can ping an expernal host on the "Internet" side of the network, but when I try to ping a host on my internal network, I get the error "operation not permitted". I've manually killing iptables, re configuring the network by hand . . . nothing. I don't know what's blocking the LAN, but it's very annoying, and seems to be unique to ether 7.1 or the business edition as opposed to the community edition.
Any ideas?
